Fruit and vegetable diet for 10 days?
I am heavily addicted to processed poultry, meats, salt, diet soda, caffeine, fast food, among other things. I am thinking about going ten days, with only any vegetables and fruit I want, Tea and Water. Is this a good idea that will help me? Any advice appreciated.

- yup
- Noooo..you need a source of protein (either meat or non meat based)..something like beans, tofu, or soy
- You should probably do that if you think it'll help. Just throw in a lean meat or something to balance out the protein and stuff. Just don't go overboard.
- Yes, it will help you, make sure to add beans to your diet, they are not fattening but they have a good source of protien. If you want to go on a fruits and veggies diet, make sure you eat more veggies than fruits, fruits have lot's of sugars. Make sure your diet consists of lot's of broccoli and Spinach, they are both the very best for you. Good Luck. And drinking lots and lots of water is the best way to lose weight(if that's what your looking for)make sure you drink 8-10 glasses a day. I used to have a diet like yours and when I switched to mostly veggies and chicken diet, I can't ever look at the greasy food the same way
- 10 days you will be fine w/o protein if you don't want it. Plus, there are vegetable sources of protein such as soy and beans. You will poop and poop and poop until the cows come home. It will detoxify your whole body. You'll feel really good.
- A bit foolish. In my other life I was a dietary consultant in a hospital in London. The change of diet suddenly does enormous damage to the intestinal processes. The bowel flora only adjust gradually to relatively small variations in regular intake. A leap such as you suggest could take bowel flora at least three months to regularise, by which time you have gone off on to something else. My advice is take it very steadily. We used to have a saying, " There is nothing gained by rushing, other than unwanted children."
- You need to add some protein. Protein is needed for muscles, digestion, and best of all, it fills you up. Mix in some fish, turkey, deer and/or chicken. You may also not feel very well after a couple days of only having fruit and may binge. Be disciplined.
